".... Michael Jackson died in his LA home today... "
I wished I was in a dream. I wished I wasn't driving at all. I wished I didn't turn on the radio, which I normally don't.

This hero of my childhood completed his full circle of life without me even having a chance to see him live in concert. Now, only on youtube I could see him dance and sing again.

I cried the whole night to sleep, I miss him so much! His songs that used to be my lullaby, his dance used to be my inspiration.

Michael, may the God be with you in heaven and you are really the best entertainer in the music industry I've ever seen. Thanks for walking into my life with your words, your music and your legend. Peace.

The Last Lecture

I'm now no longer have to go to lecture theatre, learning about electronics and how they deal with this world. So this piece is not gonna be the last lecture I went to, I have vague memory of that.

Recently very long after Khaled Hosseini, I caught an eye of the tree-trunk brown book cover with a yellow ribbon on it, called

The Last Lecture,

by Randy Pausch.

Brief story - Randy Pausch is a lecturer diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and wrote about how his childhood dreams were achieved. It is not about battle against a terminal illness. This particular book was written so that his very young children would read it and know more about their father when they grow up. He wants them to know how he would guide them through life if he can be growing old with them. A lot of love really. A men's love.

Overwhelmed with this sudden urge, I finish again a whole book. I see quite a lot of our president in Randy. To his committee, if you want to find out more about your president and what he does that we can't understand, maybe this is a go. Pretty much recommended.

He talked about life is what you want it to be, talked about complains doesn't solve things, and yada yada. Too many I've learned. And I quoted his "honesty is not just morally right, but it is very efficient too" to fire back my colleague's email.

Here, I take this opportunity to pay tribute to Randy Pausch, departed 25 July 2008. You are a superhero of many many. I am so inspired and thank you very much.

Dilemma

Few climax rush into my life simultaneously for this last few weeks.

Club Med just said YES! But I have to say NO! Means, I just gave up a golden opportunity to work with people I think in this life I'd never had a second chance to work with. I have reasons for this and keep on reading.

Current boss is giving good comments about my work performance and slowly I got respect from most of my colleagues. Including the person that used to yell at me. President said not everyone giving you shit mean you harm, now I realise that. Opportunity will come eventually I know, but I have something I want to move on to. So not this now!

Work Holiday. I'm not looking for an easy life, in fact easy means boring. To me, travelling means to walk a footstep of a stranger, and learn things you'd never knew. Mainly like what Raleigh has to offer, Adventure, Community and Environmental. Or like president said, travel for the culture and the people, travel to live like the locals. Or like phocahontas sing, to be safe you lose chance of ever knowing. Like no others, I don't fancy much shopping and spending big sum to live a posh. Basic but not too dull I'd say. No no to concentrate on work yet. All I need is a chance to try more new things, see more people, learn more skills. I have to live like who I am, not live like how it should be. So these are my small ambitions. But papa has violent objection now. This is not so cool to him. What say? Because CNN showing, economy downturn. No jobs. Retrenchment. That's a trade off but it's just hard for him to see.

Dilemma.

How many more years to enjoy the nothing to lose freedom before I need to get married and have my own family? How often to get a chance to do what I like? And the clock is ticking and I should not be falling behind...

Shoot!

It was after the badminton game that we decided to head down Pinang Tunggal to shoot shoot.
People, this is not where I live but 15 mins away from my house.
It is on the way to my work place.

That was a pretty evening. Blue sky. Endless lime green paddy fields.

A young mother was fishing by the side of this stream on that evening. With her kids playing around.

For very long I ponder, is there any better method other than open burning after harvesting? This really hurts my heart. Sigh...

Kuala Muda is the name, it wasn't a pretty sunset but we tried to act pro with our own cameras.

Ah Beh with his DSLR. My high school friend. His future is to inherit his family business.

Me. Playing with dry leaves next to the rusted windows. I like the jeans color here.
